Membership Categories

ISAN offers various membership grades to accommodate individuals at different stages of their professional careers:

Student Member

For individuals currently enrolled in accredited educational institutions pursuing studies in any course, field or discipline.

Graduate Member

For recent graduates holding degrees in any course, field or discipline.

Associate Member (AMISAN)

For professionals with relevant qualifications and minimum of two years post-qualification experience in service or other job roles/fields.

Full Member (MISAN)

For professionals with a minimum of five years of experience in any job role , including atleast two years in a supervisory or management role.

Fellow (FISAN)

Conferred upon individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of service administration and have at least ten years of professional experience.

Honorary Fellow

Awarded to distinguished individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the profession or society but may not be practicing service administrators.

Eligibility Criteria

Student Member:

• Enrollment in any accredited institution with a focus on service administration as well as other various disciplines. The candidate should be passionate about providing exceptional service, with the intention of being nationally and internationally recognized as a service professional and administrator.


Graduate Member:

• Possession of a National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in service administration as well as other fields of study/disciplines.

• The candidate must be passionate about providing exceptional service, with the intention of being nationally and internationally recognized as a service professional and administrator.


Associate Member (AMISAN):

• HND, Bachelor's degree, or higher qualifications in service administration as well as other fields of study/disciplines.

• A minimum of two years of post qualification in any professional job role

• The candidate must be passionate about providing exceptional service, with the intention of being nationally and internationally recognized as a service professional and administrator.

• Candidate must enroll in the Certified Customer Service Associate program and pass all assessments and the final exam.


Full Member (MISAN):

• HND, Bachelor's degree, or higher qualifications in service administration as well as other fields of study/disciplines.

• At least five years of professional experience, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory or managerial position.

• Candidate must enroll in the Certified Customer Service Professional program after completing it and pass all assessments and exams. This can only be done after the CCSA program has been completed.


Fellow (FISAN):

• Significant contributions to the field of service administration.

• A minimum of ten years of professional experience in service administration.


Honorary Fellow:

• Individuals of high standing who have made outstanding contributions to the profession or society.


Application Procedures

Submission: Applicants must complete the official ISAN membership application form, available on the institute's website or at its offices.


Documentation: Applications should include copies of academic certificates, professional qualifications, detailed curriculum vitae, and any other relevant supporting documents.


References: Applicants for Associate Member and higher grades must provide two references from current ISAN members in good standing.


Fees: A non-refundable application fee, as determined by the institute, must accompany the application.


Review Process: The Membership Committee will assess applications based on the provided information and may request interviews or additional documentation if necessary.


Notification: Applicants will be informed of the outcome in writing within a specified period after the submission deadline.


Code of Conduct

All members of ISAN are expected to adhere to the highest standards of professional ethics and conduct:


• Integrity: Members shall perform their duties with honesty and transparency.


• Competence: Members shall maintain and enhance their professional knowledge and skills.


• Confidentiality: Members shall respect the confidentiality of information acquired during professional practice.


• Professional Behavior: Members shall act in a manner that upholds the reputation of the profession and the institute.


• Compliance: Members shall adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ISAN's policies.


Disciplinary Procedures

ISAN has established procedures to address breaches of the Code of Conduct:


• Complaint Submission: Complaints against members must be submitted in writing to the Disciplinary Committee.


• Investigation: The committee will investigate the complaint, providing the member with an opportunity to respond.


• Hearing: If necessary, a formal hearing will be conducted.


• Sanctions: Depending on the severity of the breach, sanctions may include reprimand, suspension, or expulsion from the institute.

Membership Renewal and Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

• Renewal: Membership is subject to annual renewal upon payment of the prescribed fees and fulfillment of CPD requirements.
• CPD: Members are required to participate in CPD activities, such as workshops, seminars, and courses, to maintain and enhance their professional competence.

Use of Designatory Letters

Members are entitled to use the following designatory letters corresponding to their membership grade:

• Student Member: No designatory letters.

• Graduate Member: No designatory letters.

• Associate Member: AMISAN

• Full Member: MISAN

• Fellow: FISAN

Resignation and Reinstatement

• Resignation: Members wishing to resign must submit a written notice to the Membership Committee.
• Reinstatement: Former members seeking reinstatement must reapply and may be subject to additional requirements as determined by the institute.

Membership Fees

The institute shall determine membership fees for each category, subject to periodic review. Members will be notified of any changes in fees in a timely manner.
